Summary of Second Hand Smoke ad
This ad focusses on secondhand smoke. This is key because many smokers don't care about themselves but all parents smokers and non smokers care about their kids. This ad focuses on secondhand smoke because to many smokers the idea of hurting their loved ones is more of an insentive to quit smoking than the idea of hurting themselves. This ad takes a comedic aproach by showing a cowboy who was smoking standing next to a dead horse. This is funny in a way because no one ever thinks that smoke is going to kill an animal. It also makes it more literal rather than just saying that secondhand smoke kills it gives a picture of it doing just that. Using a horse rather than a person makes the ad not only more funny but less sad. It is also easier to look at than if they showed a picture of a dead human body. This is a perfect example of how a small detailed ad can say alot without without actually saying anything in this case. This ad may be just a picture in a world of videos but it sends a strong message to the viewer.
