Summary of Anti drug advertisement

This ads target audience is parents. This is very obvious beacuse the person in the ad is adresing the audience as parents. It also says in bold letters at the end of the ad "Parents the Anti-Drug". It aims to inform parents of over the counter drug abuse among teenagers. The ad does this through the voice of a drug dealer. The drug dealer is complaining about loosing business to over the counter drugs. He says that the kids are getting the drugs for free out of their medicine cabinets. The hope is that if the parents know the kids are abusing drugs in the medicine cabinet they will put a stop to it. The drug dealer is used to add humor to the ad. It is also a relatively young drug dealer who looks quite dirty. This is used to show what drug use can do to a person. The scene of the ad is outside a conveniance store because this is thought of as a hang out for drug dealers. This ad uses humor with the drug dealer however, it is also ment to be informative to parents. The main goal of this ad is not to entertain but to inform.
